It Okryu Restaurant was opened to the public on August 13, Juche 49 (1960).

 It was renovated in keeping with the requirements of the new century in Juche 95 (2006).

It serves various traditional dishes – Pyongyang cold noodles, meat-garnished cold noodles in tray, noodles in flat vessels, rice and soup of grey mullet from the Taedong River, rice and beef-rib soup, Pyongyang fish porridge, mung-bean pancake, onban and casserole.
