This rock nestles in Mt Talgalbawi on the left of the entrance to Kuryong Pool from Onjong Bridge of Outer Kumgang in Onjong-ri, Kosong County, Kangwon Province.
The rock, oval in shape, is formed of granites varying in hardness which have been subject to age-old weathering and erosion.
It is 7m high, 20-21m round in the longer circumference and 15m round in the shorter one.
As the large rock is perched precariously on a corner of a flat, spacious rock bed, it looks as if it would roll down at a touch. But with its secure centre of gravity, it has remained long where it is.
Its name was derived from the fact that it looks like an egg from any direction. There are many poems and songs about the rock.
The rock presents a peculiar view and is of significance in academic research.
