The Arch of Triumph is a grand monument built as a reflection of the Korean people’s earnest desire to hand down for ever the immortal revolutionary achievements of President Kim Il Sung who returned to Pyongyang in triumph after leading the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle to brilliant victory and achieving the historic cause of national liberation. It was unveiled on the April 14, 1982 on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the birth of Kim Il Sung.
It is a granite monument which is 60m high, 50.1m long and 36.2m wide with 4 floors.
