Monument to Party Founding

The Monument to Party Founding is built to hand down to posterity the great exploits of President Kim Il Sung in the founding of the Workers’ Party of Korea.

It was unveiled on October 10, Juche 84 (1995) on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the founding the WPK

The monument composes a 50-m high tower body consisting of a hammer, sickle and brush, representing the workers, peasants and intellectuals, symbolic of the composition of the WPK, a girdle which embossed with the slogan “Long live the Worker’s Party of Korea, organizer and guide of all victories of the Korean people!” a pedestal representing the long history of the Party that originated from the roots of the Down-with-Imperialism Union and three pieces of bronze reliefs giving a lively description of the glorious historical course the Party has traversed and its dignity.
