Moran Hill, a well-known scenic spot from old times, is situated on the right shore of the Taedong River which meanders through Pyongyang.

Its highest spot is the Choesung Pavilion (95 metres).

It is called so because its peaks, lying along the shore of the Taedong River, are shaped like a peony blossom.
