The Rungna Dolphinarium was inaugurated in July 2012.
Here dolphins with pet names Pyongyang Nos 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 perform excellent technical skills, drawing the attention of the audience. Various species of bream and swellfish swim in the water tanks set up at the entrance hall and the auditorium.
It consists of a ground viewing hall, a water tank for performance, a room for the dissemination of scientific and technical knowledge, in which exhibited are stuffed or immersed specimens of seals.
Sea water flows into the dolphinarium through the pipeline from Nampho to Pyongyang. The dolphinarium is also provided with other auxiliary facilities, including a refrigerating chamber, feed-processing room, veterinary room, drugstore and engine room.
