Mt. Myohyang is one of the six celebrated mountains of Korea, and its highest peak is Piro Peak (1 909 m).
The area around Sangwondong, Manphokdong and Piro Peak situated along the Myohyang Stream has spectacular scenery.
The Myohyang has become better known to the world, for it has the International Friendship Exhibition House where the gifts presented to Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il by the heads of state, government and political parties of many countries, public figures and international organizations are on display.
In the Myohyang there are many relics, such as the Pohyon Temple built in 1042 at the times of Koryo, and the complete collection of Buddhist sutras and wooden types showing the high standard of typography.
There are also the Ryongmun Cavern, the natural limestone cavern, the Myohyangsan Historic Museum, Hyangsan Hotel, and Chongchon Hotel. There is the tour road between Pyongyang and the Myohyang.
