Kaesong City situated in the midwest of Korea was the capital city of Koryo, the first unified state of Korea, and is the home of the world-famous Koryo celadon and Koryo insam.
In the city there is Panmunjom representing the tragedy of national division. In Panmunjom are the meeting place where the Korean armistice talks were held, the signature hall, and meeting rooms of the Military Armistice Commission and the Neutral Nations Supervisory Commission.
Kaesong also has Koryo Songgyun Institute, the Mausoleum of King Wang Kon, the Mausoleum of King Kongmin, the Ryongthong Temple, the Sonjuk Bridge, the Sungyang School, the Kaesong South Gate, the Bell in Yonbok Temple and other historic relics.
There are Pakyon Falls that is counted as one of the three famous falls in Korea, and many living monuments.
